As the description says 'a wine drinkable within a week, but benefits from laying down for longer'. Very true, totally drinkable from a week old, and it really does benefit from leaving longer. I haven't lay my bottles down, but left them corked, stood up-right instead. After about 2 - 2 1/2 months, I think a noticeable improvement to the wine became apparent.
These wines aren't quite the full ticket in comparison to a £4-7 purchased wine from the shops, but rest assured they get close enough. I have made 4 kits from Beaverdale 'Cabernet Sauvignon' and all have worked out well. They have ended up between 9-12 % alcohol content (variation due to my room temperature issues, as much as the kit itself) , and all have tasted the same. Smooth, clean and fruity. Give it a go. My recommendation would be to buy 1 kit, make it, see if you like it. If you do next time buy 2/3 kits in one go, make them one after another and then start to lay them down. In the 2/3 months time you'll have plenty of wine waiting to be drunk.
